- Tone: the harp's tone is warm and mellow and very resonant. The sound carries far and is rich in overtones. The age of the harp has defined its sound into a rich, mellow softness, which projects well during performance and is a wonderful blessing to those enjoying it in the concert hall through a Miracle Ear, as it carries well across a distance without losing its appeal. It is very beautiful!
- The harp is in excellent condition for its age and is a wonderful gigging harp. There are two mentionables that need attention:
- State of gold: The gold has been chipped in places due to age. This is cosmetic and does not affect the harp mechanics at all. It can easily be replaced if desired. Please see photos for further details.
- State of neck: The neck needs to be replaced due to age. It is slightly twisted as is typical of older harps due to the pull of the string tension. The harp was built in the 1930s and has had its soundboard and base repaired but did not have neck work done. The person who regulated the harp told me that the neck needs to be repaired. She said it was standard for older harps to have this work done and that once it's finished, the harp will be in great condition and playable for many years.
